There is a death certificate on file in Broward County Public Records for a Bessie Mae Simmons, filed with the court on 1/24/1998.

Thank you, Trivettes. I think that was her middle name. I tutored kids in her class when I was in high school and she would tell me all about Haiti. It made a lasting impression on me. I wish I could remember her son's name.

Ps...perhaps her son's name was Edward M or Felton L Jr. After her death certificate was filed in 1998 and in 2000 there were deed transfers to those two names (deed transfer to Edward M in 1998 and Felton L Jr in 2000, after probate was filed).

To research, just google 'search Broward County Public Records" and go to the Broward County website, do a Public search, and input her name like this with no space after the comma: Simmons,Bessie
There are about 4 pages of records, the probate and death certificate info is on page 2 (numbers 23 through 27).

She was an older woman, but then, I was a teen, so she may not have been that old-
