Hello. My father comitted suicide and I know NOTHINF about him or his family. I would love it if I could get some help in finding out things about him or his family. His name is Peter Sjunnesson, he was born may 14 1959 and died february 13 2008. He's Swedish. This is all I know...

Where are you located? Are you in Sweden too?
Do you have his obituary? That would be the 1st place I'd start. Next, I would make a family tree, consider doing your DNA. Making a tree will give you relatives that you may be able to contact or, you may be able to find photos and stories as hints at Ancestry. I found relatives in the US that I never knew I had. Also consider doing your DNA which you can then upload to multiple sites to get family matches for free. The matches may even know something about your dad
If you're interested in doing a tree, see my blog post Family tree and DNA general instructions to try uploading your raw DNA to family tree DNA and My Heritage for free.

Hello Rose,
I've been working on the obituary on the Sweden end for nearly a week and no reply yet.
I was hoping that if they did not speak English they would find someone near them that did.

As we all know DNA is a great source as well.
Thanks for letting us know Howard. Hope you're able to get it

Here is all I could find. He is listed in the Swedish Book of Death. Since you speak Swedish maybe you can tell what is referred to by that date of 1-1-14.
19590514-3516 (his Swedish social security number)
Sjunnesson, Mats Peter
Flygelvägen 138, Lund
Död 13/2 2008.
Folkbokförd (registered) i Östra Torn, Lunds kn (Skåne län, Skåne).
Född 14/5 1959 i Järrestad (Kristianstads län, Skåne).
Frånskild (divorced) man (25/6 1996).

Here is the obituary with the names of his four children.
Martin, Mattias, Marcus and Mikaela.
You can now search for them maybe in Swedish phone books. I do not know Swedish names but it looks like three may be sons and their last name has not changed via marriage.
Also in the obituary was the name of the church and you can contact them and they can likely tell you contact information for one or more of his children who attended the funeral and who may have attended the same church. Or other members of the church know of his children's location.
The funeral was the 28th February, at the church Maria Magdalena in Lund. You can contact the church and this is their email address: lund.ostrastads.forsamling@svenskakyrkan.se

I hope this has been of some value to you and that the church can help you locate one of his kids which will have photos of your father, etc.

Now we have the names of the four children and maybe they can be located. I'm guessing one or more of them attended the funeral and the church shown in the obituary may very well have the names of those who made the final arrangements.

OP should google their names then check out the FB profiles to see if any of the suggestions are them. My uncle and cousins in Hungary use FB too so it's possible they do too
