Ran some errands today and I was so glad to see so many more shoppers and tellers wearing a mask

I went back to wearing a mask weeks ago. Certainly, not a hardship. But where I shop, I see only a few wearing them. I don't care what others think about it.

Why? The OP is more protected when others mask up even when she/he is masked. My 90 yr old neighbor got covid last week AFTER he entered the hospital for another ailment, he was put on a respirator and is improving now.

I went to the dentist last week for an exam and x-rays, he no longer has a sign that says masks must be worn to enter the office, but I had mine on anyway, and I had nose guards inserted for when I had to take my mask off to be worked on. Although the dentist has a Hepa filter in his exam rooms, I still refuse to get a cleaning in the hygienist's room with all the aerosols all over the place from previous patients, I haven't had a cleaning since covid started, so my teeth cleaning routine at home is working, I had no cavities.

Hospitals are a breeding ground of germs. My wife's 102 grandmother got a respiratory infection after entering a rehab clinic for her arm injury last week.

While everyone were forced to mask up, people were still getting sick so the whole effectiveness of the practice is dubious IMO.

It's like being told if you were vaccinated and boosted you wouldn't get covid.

I don't really care if people mask up, but I'd say it's a pretty small minority in stores etc. Mostly older people, and I've seen that throughout the last couple of years. I suspect some of the 70+ crowd will just always wear masks now.

The problem is covid particles can get in the eyes so if you don't have eye protection the mask might not help. Additionally, everyone probably wasn't wearing the more protective N95 mask,
