Sad to see it go Math.
I frequented both places often and were always helpful to me.
The place you mentioned on Kings as well as Queens Blvd were legendary and iconic places that linked me to my youth.
It is a sad blow to cherished memories. It joins the ranks of other fixtures long gone and sorely missed like bowling alleys, pool halls,
local watering holes , Radio shack, Woolworth, A&P, and on and on.
When a place changes to the point you no longer recognize why hang around ?
To make new memories again?
Nope. Not me. I'll make new memories somewhere else; and I am.
Best Wishes.

in the five years we were in pa it was crazy how many businesses we saw come and go between hawley and honesdale …
just crazy how businesses fell on tough times one after another.
the area was very dependent on the tanglewood ski area and when that failed it took away a lot of the winter economy .

I did like Milford up around that way but was not too impressed by the surrounding economy.
I saw a number of shuttered places. Nothing wrong with that except they have been closed for
decades. Closed for decades ? Now that was a big red flag!
i wonder if the owner of my drum studio knows yet . i will be there later .
this could be good for his business since he sells drum equipment and sets ..
just got a nice nice pair of zildijian hi hat cymbals from 1969 a few weeks ago . nothing like the sound of vintage cymbals..they lose that ringing sound.
i much prefer dealing with the drum store / studio then sam ash . no one tunes a drum set like tony fabiano the owner… i bought a beautiful custom made sonor set , used by a well known drummer from the studio who orchestrated the deal for me ..
sam ash was very commercialized , kind of like a big box store as opposed to the custom tuning and setting up of a set by tony with the careful attention to the selection of everything right down to the heads used
my custom set , it’s all hand lacquered with sparkles that shimmer when stage lighting hits it .
most drums today use a veneer wrap not actual lacquer .
the set originally cost the drummer who had it made about 10k with no cymbals or hardware
me back in the days with my set i had made by royal music similar to carmine appice and john bonham .
