Love the MB area. Can anyone tell me the cost of an average rental for a 2 bedroom apartment in a nice complex? My parents are looking to move down there but are on limited income(retired). I've visited MB many times, I know it used to be mostly a retirement area but it seems more and more families are moving down there, is this true? I would love to movie my family down within the year along with my parents. Would be looking for nice house @ about $200. What areas are more family oriented. I appreciate any responses,

My advice would be to rent an apt in one of the oceanfront hotels over the winter for 8-1,000 a month without the obligation of a lease and check properties out at your leisure. I like some areas better than others but it took months to ferret out the best spots for me. Ocean Forest is my fave but a friend swears by Carolina Forest and another is all about Cherry Grove. Some areas like Ocean Forest have paved sidewalks, parks and easy shopping and ocean access and others are like being in an unspoiled rural area--no walking to the store, no parks etc.
Condos are still cheap and it might be worth it to the to buy instead of rent. My friend pays $500 a month on hers.
