I have submitted my homeowner exemption form in February, and the property tax grievance form to the town assessor's office last month all done by self.

So my question is when should I expect to hear from the town or the county regarding the results of my submissions. Also, in case they denied my claim, do I have any recourse of re-submitting the supporting documentations? Thanks

Depends on township. Your nuts for not hiring a lawyer Suffolk is a hard win. You will get denied in late aug or early sept then have maybe 2 weeks to file scar. Scar hearing will be between feb- April 2025. I owe my attorney $825 for a $2200 reduction worth every damn cent. Second time we won in Suffolk 22 and 24.

We closed the house in the beginning of this year, and filed the grievance sole based on the assessed value VS. our purchased price (which was at a fair market value), and we yet to start any renovation projects.

I thought this would be a clear cut grievance case, since we are not challenging any other items on RP-524 form. Who knows, but will definitely using an attorney next year if we don't make it this time.
