Can anyone tell me about the Bellevue area? Is it a nice place to live? I am moving there in January to attend NKU. I will be checking out the house this weekend. My girlfriend lives in Independence and I am only familiar with the Independence/Alexandria/Walton/Florence areas. Thanks

bellevue isn't far from the areas you mentioned... its along the river on the east side of cincy - it's a nice neighborhood, with cool apartments and it's close to great bars / restaurants in newport, covington and mt. adams. The farther up the river valley hill you live, the better your view of downtown will be, but places on the riverbed are great too. Do you already have a place in Bellevue? There are other neighborhoods that are closer to NKU, but Bellevue is definately a top area to live in the city.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I already have a place in Bellevue on Poplar Street. How's that area? My girlfriend and I are renting a house there until May when we find an apartment.

If this helps at all when I was in the library in Covington, I asked the librarians about the area. One was from Bellevue and she said it was the nicest area to live, she said that she has been priced out of a lot of places so she moved away from the river outside of Covington. If it hadn't been for the fact that she married she said she would probably still be in Bellevue. She did warn me, among the other librarians that the area real estate is going up every week. She said people are starting to discover it and commuting from Cincy, and Lexington because of its uniqueness! I thought the area was really cool myself.

Bellvue includes an area of riverfront which quickly turns into hilly neighborhoods as you move away from the river. Lot's of well-kept older houses there, most ranging from probably 40-100 years old. Because of the hills, Bellvue reminds me of some of the older residential neighborhoods around San Francisco. It's location also makes it very convenient to get to anywhere else in the tristate. NKU is only about 10 minutes away.
