My roommate was offered a job by Serco in Fort Knox and we have to relocate as soon as possible. We have been looking for apartments or houses to rent, $700-850 range, in Elizabethtown. Are there any recommendations for places in nice quite areas. We currently live in Richmond, KY in a townhome with utlities included (would love this). Any help would be great. We will be in town this weekend looking around. We are thinking Elizabethtown or Vinegrove.

I have no specific recommendation but here is Hardin County's newspaper which you can search for rentals. You should also include the Western part of Radcliff.

Oh yeah, the rental market here is going to be tight with BRAC moving in.

Vine Grove is a tiny community but within 10 minutes of Fort Knox. As a reference, there are zero fast-food establishments in VG. You will have to drive to Radcliff for EVERYTHING and Radcliff is also about a 10 minute drive. I think you'll find E-town and Richmond are comparable in terms of restaurants, shopping, etc. The northern end of E-town is about 20 minutes from Fort Knox with the south side being as much as 30 minutes away. Traffic on 31-W can be maddening at times but a new road is being built that will help ease congestion. I know I didn't offer any help with apartments but you might want to keep these things in mind when selecting a home.

We just relocated here to recently, but now we have to relocated. We purchased the home because when we arrived in May there were no decent rentals without having to drive 25 minutes to get to post. I think there are some 2 bedroom townhomes in E-Town that are new...we hope that once we put ours out on the rental market it will get snatched up pretty quick....we will see....
