I thought I read on the Kansas City forum that two Trader Joe's stores were opening in the KC area, one in Leawood and one somewhere on the Ward Parkway. However, when I went to the TJ website, there is no mention of either of these stores opening in the future. Does anyone know what the status is and if TJ is still planning to open two stores in the KC area?? Thanks.

There is a banner on the east side of Ward Parkway Mall saying, "Coming Soon--Trader Joes."

Just make sure your expectations are not too high. TJs is a great store and I probably buy 90 percent of my groceries there.
But it is not a Healthfood Store, It is not a traditional Supermarket and it is not in the same market as Wholefoods, Henries or Sprouts.

If you think of it as a nice neighborhood store, with a california, you will have a good shopping experience.
