According to design magazines and many design experts 2024 signals the reemergence of earth tones such as greens and browns/tans as style-forward colors. Personally I'm doing cartwheels over what might appear to be a diversification away from everything "fashionable" presented as varying shades of gray and white. Thoughts?

I never follow trends in color.
I have always had earth tones, as they go perfectly with our Craftsman/Mission furniture.

Ditto. Couldn't care less what the mode de la seconde happens to be. I'm the one who has to live with them so I decide what's "fashionable".

Don't you mean that avocado green toilet? What about harvest gold appliances, burnt orange shag, macrame, and fake wood paneling?

Yes, of course. A subtle but important distinction.

Are you talking about my place?

Though no shag carpeting here. But lots of glorious 1970s decor including a wall of macrame and a vintage Tupperware collection on display.

I'm currently watching the original Dallas series, which first aired in the late 1970s. Lots of earth tones and gaudy decor and fashions. I'm probably the only person who pauses it here & there to check out an ugly painting on a wall or the appliances (and Tupperware) on the Ewing kitchen counter.

I still remember as a child going to see my adult sister's brand-new house with the orange shag carpeting. Wow.
