Hi All,

I'm looking for a good but not super pricey face exfoliator. Like not more than $25 or $30. Any of you have any recommendations for ones you like in that price range?

Thanks bunches

Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash Redness Soothing Gentle Scrub

Neutrogena - Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Daily Scrub

I love both of these products.

The redness control one works wonders on acne, but it didn't actually soothe much redness. The shine control one is decent for acne and does help keep your skin from getting crazy shiny, but not so much now that the temperatures are soaring into the upper 90's.

If you have acne and are hoping to treat it, don't use any scrub at all. The last thing infected skin needs, is something scraping it. I wouldn't even scrub it with a washcloth. I'd use a gentle cleansing milk, leave it on the skin a minute, then -gently- wipe it off with a wet, warm (not hot) washcloth.

If you don't have acne and just want to loosen the dead upper layer of skin to help it slough off, I really like Origins Modern Friction, but I think it's closer to $40 than $30 so it might be out of your price range.

For a cheap easy scrub, I've never found anything better than good old fashioned St. Ive's Apricot Facial Scrub. It's around $5 in your local CVS or Rite-Aid, it smells good, it sloughs off the dead skin, it'll make your cheeks red, and it's tried and true. It's one of the products that defies logic - in the case of St. Ive's, cheap -is- better.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub. It's around 3-5 dollars depending where you buy it. I had been using a scrub from a line of more expensive skin care products but the St. Ives is a much better quality scrub.

Every dermatologist I've ever been to has strongly advised against using St Ives or any other apricot scrub. Those scrubs are made up of pulverized walnet shells - they have irregular, jagged shapes which make tiny little tears in your skin.

Whatever you use for physical exfoilation - it should be uniform in aize, and small and round.
