Does anyone have reviews on Silvertree Apartments or the surrounding area? My family is moving to CT, and looking for a safe, family friendly area to rent in for awhile. We have two young children in elementary school, so a good school district is a high priority. TIA!
Lots of options in the area. Where are you looking to work/commute to and what's your budget?
My husband works from home, but has to commute at least 3 times a week to various sites all throughout CT, RI, and down to NYC. He almost always makes his own schedule, so commute times aren't a big factor. We would like to keep housing under 1600 a month.
Well, there are tons of towns that fit that criteria. Depends on what you're looking for. Good schools/safe/family-friendly describes a lot of towns so you'll have to be more specific.
You might want to look in the Middletown area because of its proximity to Route 9 (which runs southwest toward RI), proximity to 15 (which runs southwest toward NYC), access to 691 (which runs west toward Waterbury and western CT), and 91 (south toward New Haven, or north toward the Hartford area). It's really a perfect location for you since you'll be traveling between NYC and RI, including around CT.
Portland is a nice little town adjacent to Middletown, as is Middlefield. Middletown itself has some school issues from what I've heard.

I knew someone that lived in Silvertree years ago and liked. Not sure how it is now. The area it is in is good but the compex does back up to the Wilbur Cross Parkway. There is a small wooded buffer but you still know it is there. Wallingford is a nice town and the schools are good. There are towns nearby that have better performing schools though. Check the link below for information on schools in Connecticut. Jay
