Hill to Downtown could become New Haven's Harbor Point.

Has anyone heard what is going on with the Haven outlet mall in West Haven? I drove by this weekend and it looks like no activity. There was a public hearing notice on some of the boarded up eminent domain properties.

Looks like the city is one step closer to expanding the runways at Tweed New Haven. Jay

The latest I could find was this from April. It doesn’t answer your question though.

And there is nothing at all recent on their website. Jay

So LiveWorkLearnPlay is out as the developer of the old New Haven Colosseum site and Spinnaker is in. Maybe now something will be built on the site. Interestingly also gone from the development plan is the hotel. LWLP had touted that they had a hotel ready to go but it never actually materialized. The city is still holding out for one with conference facilities but it’s not guaranteed. Too bad. Jay

LWLP clearly didn’t want to put the extra effort in and took advantage of a bad deal the city brokered that didn’t give them any reasonable timeline. Spinnaker has a good track record in New Haven so I’m confident this will now move forward.

LWLP was clearly over their heads on this. I always questioned their selection. They had never done a development of this scale and they were way too demanding. The state now is wasting millions on a project to reconnect Orange Street to South Orange which will just make a traffic nightmare getting off and on from I-95. It will be a mess. Jay

If you notice, Spinnaker is now getting the funds that were for years under Malloy depending on securing a hotel, and now that hotel stipulation is magically gone.
