Ask for a private screening room when going through security.

I still can't decide. I might be trading my Corolla for a mid-sized SUV so I can drive with them. I know no matter what I do, they will be upset; just hoping that whatever decision I make will cause them the less grief.

I'm not going back through all the posts here, I'll just reiterate that we had an Easy Cruise with Bizzie (a bit hyper) and Shelly (kicked back cat) for a couple of 2000 mile cruises. We let them out of their carriers, Bizzie planted on the rear cargo cover and watched the world go by. Shelly settled down on the floor (something soft there, a towel or T-shirt) and slept the whole way. Your cats may vary.

I know they HATE being in the carriers. One of us (the one not driving) was also available for lap time should either request it.
Litter box, crunchies, water, it was a pretty easy trip. That's in a KIA Soul. You'll probably be using something bigger.

I'm also going to be traveling with two dogs: one is 4 1/2 pounds and the other is 50 pounds.

Do the dogs and cats get along well?

The two cats barely tolerate each other but they are fine with the dogs and the dogs are fine with them. So I can't get a large crate and put the two cats together like my neighbor suggested. "There will be blood".

I received a quote from one of those pet transport services and it was $2600! Has anyone used one of these services? I'm thinking I might be better off flying there with the two cats as long as they don't get put in cargo. Cats hate change as we all know so I want to do what is least traumatic for them.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to spend almost 3K but I also want Binx and Grayson to not be freaking out. Grayson already overgrooms due to anxiety (according to my vet).

Thank you.
Rehome your cats in Florida.

Get new cats in Colorado Springs.

Problem solved.

I hear you. I have two cats like that.

I am going to reiterate renting a large car and having someone follow you in your car. Dogs and children with you, cats with whomever is driving your car. There should be plenty of room for everyone that way.

When I was a kid, my family and I drove two trailers of horses twice a year from CT to FL. Not only did that entail horses but, also, children, dogs and cats We had CBs, which were really handy for communicating—much easier than cell phones.
