I got a speeding ticket in Austin 2 years ago. I know for the fact, in another year the ticket will drop off my record but I was wondering is there a way I can drop my ticket sooner than that? I'm 22 years old and the insurance is killing me. Any advice will help, thanks!

Defensive driving course usually knocks points off
and lowers your insurance

In order for the ticket to be cleared, you would have had to take defensive driving within the few months following the issuance of the ticket. So you're pretty much stuck with it. Most insurance companies will give you a 10% discount if you take defensive diving, however.

Wait so you paid for the ticket or not? Is your insurance with your parents? Our State Farm rep didnt run up my brothers insurance after he got tickets because they didnt want to lose my parents business.

If you can bring some business to a State Farm rep you can talk them into not penalizing you for the ticket. If its just car insurance you buy just for yourself you wont be able to wheel and deal though.

I was driving my Mustang at that time which I don't have anymore. I was thinking about taking a defensive driving course now and see if it would make any changes on my insurance. Since one of my ticket did go off my record, my insurance has been dropped by $25 less now, but then again I am paying for liability only. Is it worth taking a defensive driving course? I currently have allstate insurance.

I did pay for the ticket at THAT time because I didn't know how to deal with the court. I was naive at that time and plead guilty, I guess.
