I started having a sore scratchy throat and sniffles a week ago and thought I was coming down with covid again. But I still have it and I am testing negative. I had full blood, liver, kidney and other tests just a few weeks ago so I'm not too worried about serious illness.
Then it occurred to me that a little over a week ago they started insulating my house, taking out old fiberglass and blowing in cellulose. Did some googling and sure enough, blown insulation and even a chemical they often treat it with (boric acid) are known to cause sore throat and allergy symptoms. They are still doing the work and its too late to turn back now. It's messy work.
I hope I'm wrong, but if it is the insulation, I hope it is transient and will go away once they are finished and the dust settles, so to speak.
