A banner from students of Newtown, Connecticut to the students of Moore, Oklahoma still hangs in Moore City Hall. The City of Moore recently received a $26.3 million Community Development Block Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help recovery continue from an EF-5 tornado that ravaged the community in May 2012 with winds more than 200 miles per hour.
