The road to the landfill was temporarily closed due to the heavy ice jams and severe flooding, which washed the road out. Waste removal is a critical part of the recovery process and FEMA has provided federal funding in the form of Public Assistance to help people and communities recover from the devastation that occurred during the May 17 to June 11, 2013 time period.
