The Food Bank is a state member of Feeding America, a national organization that is a member of the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD). A non-profit organization that serves 18 of the 21 counties in New Jersey, the Community Food Bank of New Jersey distributes food to non-profit organizations in New Jersey (e.g. the Salvation Army of New Jersey) to provide food to people in need on a regular basis. During times of disaster, the Food Bank of New Jersey coordinates its activities through FEMA's Voluntary Agency Liaison (VAL) to provide assistance to disaster survivors.
