FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate testifies on addressing the needs of children in disasters before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Disaster Recovery. The main purpose of the hearing is to evaluate the interim report from the National Commission on Children and Disasters. Specifically, the subcommittee is asking that Fugate address: (1) our coordination with HHS in developing strategies to address the needs of children in disasters; (2) our partnership with the National Commission; and (3) what we are doing to address the concerns raised the in the National Commission?s interim report.
