Captain Michael Bryce, U.S. Public Health Service and Toby Clairmont, Team Commander, Hawaii Disaster Medical Assistance Team (DMAT), breath a sigh of relief as a Coast Guard plane carrying an infant is evacuated to Hawaii. The Hawaii DMAT assisted with the emergency evacuation of the infant. DMATs are part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ National Disaster Medical System which supports hospitals and other medical and public health needs of communities during disasters such as the earthquake and tsunami disaster in American Samoa.FEMA/Casey Deshong
