Alongside Belle Chasse Primary School, where 6 modular classrooms provided by FEMA are being dedicated at a ribbon cutting ceremony, are FEMA travel trailers that are being used as temporary housing for teachers at the school that have been displaced from their homes due to Hurricane Katrina. This day of celebration applauds FEMA, the US Army Corp of Engineers, School and Board Members as well as the Parent/Teacher Associations, the Faculty and the Times Picayune and Plaquemines Gazette for their contributions in expanding the school's facility to accomodate increased attendance due to the hurricane.
