The September floodwaters brought by rains from Hurricanes Dennis and Floyd left much devastation. The historic town of Princeville, NC, was almost totally inundated. This Princeville home, owned by Bettye Mooring and her 99-year-old mother, has been adopted by college students from Davidson College as a volunteer restoration project. Over many weekends, the students will completely clean and renovate the structure, including replacing furniture and appliances. While the work is being done by these caring volunteers, Ms. Mooring and her mother are living in FEMA's travel trailer park in Rocky Mount, NC. Photo by DAVE GATLEY/ FEMA News Photo
