User submitted facts and corrections:
  • Pearlington had been hit very hard by hurricane Katrina and still needs help. They do have National Guard, Army and Army Corp of Engineers there but no Red Cross etc. A grassroots charity did bring in a vet and two truckloads of needed supplies, but no where near enough. added by CT
