Wild Rivers - Irvine, California - Large-Scale Family Water Park

Wild Rivers is a large-scale family water park located in Irvine, California. It offers visitors access to a wide variety of different rides and attractions that include water slides, wave pools, inner tube rides, activity pools, lounging areas, and more. The park also hosts a number of special events to help mix things up for regulars and attract new business as well.

The main draw for most visitors to Wild Rivers is, of course, the selection of rides and attractions themselves. These cover a number of different intensity levels and range from thrilling and exciting for adults and teens, to family rides that are appropriate for all ages, to kiddie attractions designed especially for the park's youngest visitors.

Many of the attractions consist of classic water slide style rides, some designed for single riders and some designed to accommodate multiple riders. Some of the most popular of these include, but are not limited to the following. The Bombay Blasters mimics the sensation of being shot out of an underground cannon and into the air before dropping the rider into an 8-fooot pool. The Wahtubee is a straight-up speed slide that can be ridden alone or with friends. The Chaos is a single or double tube ride that features 360 degree turns, special effects, and four stories of fun.

There are also a number of other rides that revolve around the ideas of classic white water rapids rides and log flumes. These are appropriate for children and families, as well as adults and teens. For instance, River Rapids is a 500-foot single or double tube ride that is considered by many amusement park enthusiasts to be one of the best of its kind west of the Colorado River. Sweitzer Falls simulates a ride over Niagara Falls in the proverbial barrel... a must-try for any visitor to Wild Rivers.

Gentler attractions that allow park goers to take a temporary break from some of the action and adventure are also part of the mix. These include wave pools, activity areas, and lounge areas. Kiddie sections that feature scaled-down or miniature versions of some of the adult versions of other rides are also available and feature sitting areas for parents and adults.

Season passes are available for locals or regular visitors to Wild Rivers. However, a limited number of these passes are sold each season, so those interested should plan on buying theirs sooner rather than later. From time to time, Wild Rivers will have event weekends or specials for groups, for season pass holders, or in honor or special holidays as well. These include days when carloads of 8 people or more can purchase admission at discounted rates and days when season pass holders gain additional privileges.

Food options are varied and plentiful, offering guests a choice between sit-down dining experiences or grab-and-go options. There is also a beautiful picnic area where people can relax and enjoy a snack or a cool beverage. Available food options include items such as burgers, hot dogs, pizza, funnel cakes, ice cream, and soft drinks. Rental of items like cabanas, lockers, or inner tubes is also available as a convenience to guests during their visit.
