War Memorial Opera House


The War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco, California is an elegant Old World Theatre that offers a beautiful design and rich architecture to the community. The ceilings are coffered the ceiling is made of marble set among luxurious sweeping balconies. The Opera House was built in 1932 and today seats 3,146 visitors. It is home of the San Francisco Opera and San Francisco Ballet.

The Opera House Café, in the lower lobby of the War Memorial Opera House, opens one hour before each evening and Sunday matinee performance. Access to the Opera House Café is via the Opera House North Carriage Entrance.

Different areas of the opera house can be rented for a catered event that doesn't include a performance or even use of the auditorium area. Exclusive event contracts and catering information can be found at the office of the War Memorial Opera House. Reservations must be made well in advance due to early bookings and availability.

Parking is available at or near the opera house and includes the Performing Arts Garage and the Civic Center Garage. Accommodations of over 600 cars are available at the Performing Arts Garage and the garage is open for all performances.
