The Magic Theatre


The Magic Theatre of San Francisco, California is a prominent theater under the directorship of Loretta Greco. Performances at the theater include off Broadway, Broadway hits, and up and coming playwright's work. The theater was established to present the audience with an intimate, yet professional production allowing for contemporary issues to be discussed on stage with comedy and originality. The Magic Theatre opened 43 years ago in order to contribute to the San Franciscan community.

Several of the productions over these 43 years have earned prizes and awards like Buried Child, True West, and Fool For Love. There have been more than 200 works performed at the Magic Theater. Some of the actors on stage have included Claire Chafee, Neena Beber, John Robin Baitz, Anne Bogart, and Charles Mee. The Brothers Size, What We're Up Against, and the Lily's Revenge are three of the productions for the 2010 season. Tickets can be purchased for subscriptions or individual shows. Shows are in the afternoon or evenings. Usually, the matinees are held on the weekends, with one nightly performance. The box office is open Sunday through Saturday for ticket purchases. Hours vary from 10am to 7pm based on show times.
