Saturn Steps

Saturn Steps or Saturn Stairway is one of the famous stairways in San Francisco, California. There are quite a few famous stairways in the city due to all of the long hills. Saturn Steps are located at Castro connecting Ord and Saturn Streets. It is also possible to reach 17th Street, which is a half block from Vulcan Steps. The entire stairway is a little over one block. Other stairs nearby include Levant Street, Ord Court, and Clifford Terrace.

Saturn Steps connect Ord Street from the lower point to Saturn Street on the upper half. The stairway wanders through gardens, which neighbors care for. The houses on Saturn Stairs are only accessible by foot, which is much different from Vulcan Steps where there are drive ways.

Saturn Steps were constructed with a number of products like concrete, lumber, and packed earth. There are also a few terraces with benches and views of the city. Visitors may want to take Vulcan Steps up to walk over to Levant Street Stairs and then go back down Saturn Street Steps for a full walk. Occasionally, construction on the stairs is needed due to the materials used to build the steps.
