Sanchez Street

Sanchez Street is one of San Francisco, California's well known streets because of the stairs. Sanchez Street is linked by the steps to 19th Street. Between Sanchez and 19th Street are Noe and Church. The stairs are less than a full block. Nearby 20th Street Stairs and Liberty Street Stairs are other stairs to explore. Sanchez Street crosses 19th Street via the steps, which connect upper and lower Sanchez Street. The upper staircase descends to a landing and then there are two different stairways to the lower section.

Sanchez Street has a few nice features like the three small landings with benches for a relaxing time. The benches also allow for city views of a variety of popular buildings and houses. The landings are small, but they do give visitors a proximity to other attractions like Delores Park and the Mission. The only problem with this section is the occasional homeless or drug addict that finds their way to the terraces and benches during the evening. Police tend to patrol the stairs frequently to keep them safe. Overall, Sanchez Street is a great place to head for a walk around a few of the city's famous stairways.
