SS. Peter and Paul Church

SS. Peter and Paul Church or Saints Peter and Paul Church is part of North Beach San Francisco, California. Its address is 666 Filbert Street, which places it across from Washington Square. Salesians of Don Bosco currently run the church. It is primarily an Italian- American church, having been built for the community. It has also become home to Chinese American Roman Catholics. There are weekly masses in Italian, Mandarin and English to accommodate all parishioners.

SS. Peter and Paul Church was used in several films including Dirty Harry, The Dead Pool, and The Ten Commandments. It has also been an important place for famous marriages such as Marilyn Monroe to Joe DiMaggio. DiMaggio married Dorothy Arnold first in the same church, so there was a problem with having more than a civil ceremony in 1954 with Monroe.

Today the church still hosts masses throughout the year including special holiday masses. Weddings, baptisms, and more are also allowed at the church. The Salesians of Don Bosco cooperate with many members of their community to offer elementary school, clubs, sacramental programs, associations, activities, and more. They work to bring the community together with their programs and church masses.
