The RedCat is the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater in Los Angeles. The theatre brings unique performances and exhibits to a diverse audience and gives local artists a chance to share their work and achieve national and international exposure. The RedCat is considered part of the adventurous art and performance centers that are growing in popularity. The theatre is considered a center for discovery, experimentation and lively civic discourse. Events at the theatre include film screenings, exhibitions, performances and literary events. The Gallery offers a place where artists can display their art to be enjoyed by a diverse audience attending performances and relaxing in the Lounge. Onsite at the RedCat is the Lounge, offering visitors a place to chill with friends, relax and enjoy some time away from the hustle and bustle of the Los Angeles streets. Following the performances at the theatre, the Lounge offers a chance to interact with the performers and have real, indepth discussions about art and the performances. The Lounge is open six days a week and offers a full-service bar with espresso, snacks and fine wines. There is free wireless Internet access and a variety of books for sale. RedCat is a place for conversation, theatre, dance, music, multi media, film and video, family events.
