Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach, San Francisco is located in the state of California and extends from Cliff House all the way to Fort Funston. This Pacific Coastal region is comprised of amusement parks, the Sutro Baths, luxury resorts, and lots of shopping destinations.

The San Francisco fog rolls in and out of the region during the Spring and Summer months and the average temp ranges from the low to high 50s. The water is cold and infamous for its strong currents and waves. The extreme cold of the water and rapid currents make swimming dangerous and casual swimmers are discouraged from even attempting to go into the water. The beaches are where the people go and warmer temperatures make for warmer sand. Ocean Beach is a great place to fly a kite due to the ocean breezes and a nice place to sit in the sun and people watch.

The best months to visit Ocean Beach in San Francisco are in September and early October. The region is the sunniest during this time and ocean walks make for a romantic time. Fire rings have been implemented at the beach and provide a nice atmosphere for enjoying the evenings at Ocean Beach.
