Ocean Avenue

Parallel to the Pacific Coast Highway in Santa Monica, CA, Ocean Avenue starts at Adelaide Drive in a residential area and continues south until it ends at Pico Boulevard (where it becomes Neilson Way).

The street, which is the westernmost in Santa Monica, also runs parallel to Palisades Park, which contains bluffs that overlook Pacific Coast Highway and the Pacific Ocean. It is home to a wide array of shopping, dining, tourist hotels, and expensive real estate. The Santa Monica Pier and Santa Monica Aquarium are both located along Ocean Avenue where it intersects with Colorado Avenue.

Lined with palm trees, Ocean Avenue consists of vendors such as Carousel Gift Shop, Hamilton Galleries, Ocean Oasis Spa, Oatman Rock Shop, and Perry's Café and Rentals. On the ocean side of the avenue lays Santa Monica State Beach.

Ocean Avenue is located about 20 minutes northeast of Los Angeles International Airport right off the coast of California. Within walking distance tourists will find the Santa Monica Pier Carousel, Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, surfing, fishing, and various other beach activities. Other tourist sites within a short driving distance include Bergmont Station, Museum of Flying, Black Inventions Museum, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Museum of Contemporary Art.
