Doheny State Park


Doheny State Park is located in Dana Point, California. The park is open year round from 6am to 10pm daily. Day use fees are charged for parking only, which means walking in or biking in to the park is free. There are camping fees which change yearly. Also some picnic facilities fees are charged for large groups. There are two areas for picnicking: Area A and Area B. Reservations are required for groups in the event someone wants to have a wedding, birthday party or other private affair.

Doheny State Park is located on Palapa Beach, where there is a snack bar for those who may not bring their own food. Alcohol is allowed by special permission only. Parking fees are generally $15 per day, $14 per day for seniors, and $50 for a bus with 24 or less passengers. Dogs are also welcome at the park, though they must be leashed. When camping, dogs must be in a tent or vehicle. The park offers interpretive programs, an aquarium, and other nature programs. The park is currently under renovations at the Visitor Center, but they should be finished in the near future providing a better pool, aquariums, and natural habitat displays.
