At Main Street Antiques we make an effort to carry the items others local dealers don't. We are not purveyors of collectables or “retro”. The foremost criterion for our purchasing is originality, the unique, excellence in craftsmanship. If we have never seen it before chances are we will buy it. If you are looking for the standard selection of cups & saucers, salt and pepper shakers, Coke a Cola advertising, or the like you may be disappointed. We sell odd stuff to odd balls. Most people take a look around the shop and remark “how interesting!” and never return. You may not want to waste your time. Over the years we have discovered that having the salable item is more important then business hours. We would rather spend our time on the prowl looking for the stuff then sitting around the store with not enough to sell, so our hours are Saturdays 10:30 to 4:30 and the rest of the week is by chance or appointment.
