Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary


Tucker wildlife sanctuary is open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm Tuesday-Sunday. The sanctuary sits on 12 acres of land located in Modjeska Canyon right next to Cleveland National Forrest. Tucker is owned and operated by California State University Fullerton under the auspices of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics.

The wildlife sanctuary receives several public visits and also serves as a research center for Cal State Fullerton faculty and students. The facilities include a natural history museum, interpretive center, two ponds, a bird observation room, a patio and picnic area, an outdoor amphitheater, care taker's residence, a gift shop, and large parking area. The property also has several hiking trails open to walkers and hikers of all skill levels and ability.

Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary is a 501C-3 Non Profit Organization and depends on donations to maintain the facilities and feed the birds. Interested parties can become constituents by paying for a membership. People can choose from a variety of memberships including individual, family, premium, contributing, and supporter. Small groups can also reserve the sanctuary for private tours and should be requested in advance. Tucker also distributes a newsletter free of charge to interested parties.
