Crocker Art Museum

Founded in 1885, the Crocker Art Museum, located at 216 O Street, Sacramento, CA, has an extensive collection of early California, European and Asian art, as well as an International Ceramics exhibit.

Crocker houses temporary exhibitions showcasing several different art media types, eras and cultures. In addition to the many special exhibits and events hosted throughout the year, the Crocker Art Museum provides a variety of education programs for schools, families and the general public.

Classical and jazz concerts; lectures, after school art programs, the Crocker ball, an art auction, an annual holiday art and craft festival; and member-only events are just a sample of what the museum offers to the community.

The Crocker Art Museum is currently closed for a major construction and renovation project. The expansion will triple the current size of the building, increasing the museum's capacity to add to its permanent collection, as well as hosting larger traveling exhibits. An education center, a care and conservation lab for the collections; an auditorium, a café and a new courtyard are also part of the construction.

The grand opening is scheduled for October 10, 2010. Parking is available in a nearby parking lot as well as street parking.
