Commerce Casino in Los Angeles



The Commerce is the largest cardroom in the world and is located in the suburbs of Los Angeles in a place called Commerce. The casino is located about 10 miles south of Los Angeles and was opened in 1983. Commerce Casino immediately became the primary economic engine for the small suburb of Commerce. The casino is the suburb's leading tax generator and employs a large percentage of the people who live in the area. Over three thousand people are employed through the casino and hotel, and an estimated fifteen million dollars is contributed to the local economy. The casino is the current epic-center of economic stability and development in Commerce. Commerce Casino gives back to the community by participating in many programs, some of which are outreach. The programs include a scholarship program for young teenagers who are academically successfully as well as giving back to children who come from low-income homes. The casino also plays the lead role in a children's bicycle safety fair, and provides funding for various youth organizations.

There are over two hundred game tables in the casino and a wide variety of poker games are played by the visitors. Some of the poker games played include Texas hold'em, seven-card stud, and the Omaha Hi-Lo Split. A majority of the tables that specialize in poker are dedicated to Texas Hold'em. The Commerce Casino is considered the capital of the poker world. The casino is open all year long and features dining and other entertainment as well. The casino has the same luxuries as many Vegas casinos. There are several restaurants, comedy venues, and live music. The Las Vegas Buffet Restaurant offers players and guests an open and varied dining experience. Jokers Comedy Club provides local entertainment with stand-up comedians every Thursday at 8PM.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel is also an integral part of the Commerce Casino. The hotel has a spa, pool and sun deck, shops, and banquet rooms. Hotel rooms are an average of $200 a night. In the year 2001, the Commerce Casino underwent renovations to attract even more guests and improve both the amenities and infrastructure of its facilities.
