Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament

The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament offers weekly mass and mass on High Holy Days, but also welcomes those with a desire to tour the church. Tours are available Sundays and Wednesdays following mass. Weekday tours can be scheduled in advance for those who would like a guided tour or who wish to bring a group through the church. Tours are a great way to learn about the architecture, history, and art of the church. The gift shop is open everyday except Friday and offers rosaries, books, postcards, photos, and a variety of other religious merchandise for sale. In addition to mass, the cathedral offers religious education for both children and adults. Adult programs include confirmation, Baptism, Catechist, and RCIA education. Youth and teen programs offer preparation for penance and Eucharist, confirmation, and RCIA. Teens can also participate in the Souljers of Christ program. Those with a desire to marry in the cathedral will need to make arrangements well in advance and participate in marriage classes to prepare them for the sacrament. The cathedral operates a program offering support to homeless citizens of Sacramento, helping them find gainful employment and offering them help during the difficult period without a home.
