Description: Built in 1931, Memorial Hall is a proscenium-arch, 1,400-seat theater that has long served as the UNC campus’s main stage. A three-year renovation was completed in 2005. Left untouched were the marble slabs commemorating university benefactors who helped pay for construction of the original Memorial Hall in 1885. Those still grace the lobby. Memorial Hall hosts the Carolina Performing Arts series as well as performances and productions of student groups.
