Description: The California School of Professional Psychology combined with U.S. International University in 2001 to form Alliant International University (AIU). The nonprofit university has six campuses in California, including one in San Diego County, as well as one in Mexico City and another in Toyko, Japan. The San Diego location serves more than 640 students and is the university’s only residential campus.Graduate and undergraduate degrees are available in a wide variety of fields, including liberal arts, education, communication, English, journalism, information systems, and business. There are postgraduate degrees in a variety of branches of psychology as well as in education, business, technology, and other fields. Distance, online, and evening courses are available for nontraditional students and those who work full time.The Family Violence and Sexual Assault Institute, which trains individuals and institutions to understand and eliminate family violence, offers its services to the community while furthering research for the institution. The Virtual Reality Medical Center uses virtual reality therapy to treat specific neuroses, anxiety disorders, and phobias and also serves the community.
