Northwood is an older but suitable motel for golf enthusiasts, with an assortment of room sizes, including cottages with full kitchens. Most rooms have microwaves and refrigerators; all have satellite TV and air-conditioning. Children—and adults—will like the pool on those hot August days. Description: Set in an elbow of the Russian River and surrounded by redwood trees, this is one of the more beautiful Wine Country courses. The wind is almost always gentle and the temperatures are moderated by the tall trees. Northwood is a par 36, nine-hole course designed by Alister Mackenzie. Weekday walking fees are $19 for 9 holes to $28 for 18 holes; riding fees are $26 and $40. Weekend walking/riding fees are $38 and $50 for 18 holes.
