The Fresno Philharmonic

For over fifty years the Fresno Philharmonic has brought culture and class in music form to the Fresno area. Located in the San Joaquin Valley, the orchestra offers Master shows, pop concerts, family shows, and a variety of other performances each year. They perform in the Saroyan Theatre, which is located in downtown Fresno and seats just under 2,400 people. The Philharmnic has a small full-time and part-time staff. It continues to operate thanks in part to grants and other financial contributions. The mission of the Philharmonic is to offer the community live orchestral music that entertains, inspires, and educates children and adults. Those attending a performance should dress comfortably, as if they were going out to dinner at a nicer restaurant. Formal attire is not necessary for attendance at a performance. When you first arrive, you will be able to enjoy the beauty of the theatre. Once the lights go down you have your focus directed toward the stage and the musicians. Guests will be able to enjoy the performance right from the tuning of the instruments through the ends of the musical performance. The Philharmonic plays at a few alternate locations around Fresno, so check the website for details of their upcoming shows.
