Kiva Retreat House

Modeled after a Japanese bath house, the Kiva Retreat House offers a serene atmosphere where patrons can reclaim their natural selves and connect with others in a casual atmosphere. The spa is located just east of the intersection of Water and Ocean Streets in Santa Cruz, CA.

The Kiva Retreat House was built in 1980 to provide an alternative gathering place to the nightclub a social atmosphere conducive to rejuvenating bodies and souls. "Kiva" is a Hopi Indian word meaning, "sacred circle." The Kiva Retreat House models itself after this in order to provide a sense of community and wellbeing.

Amenities at the Kiva Retreat House include a Jacuzzi, cold plunge, sauna, garden, and massage therapy. Guests need only bring themselves. Towels and locks can be brought or rented for a small fee at the Kiva Retreat House.

The Kiva Retreat House is just a couple of blocks east of the Santa Cruz River on Water Street. The spa is located south of the San Jose International Airport about 45 minutes by car and is within walking distance of the Santa Cruz Mission State Historic Park and the Perfumer's Apprentice and just under a mile away from the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.
