Banana Museum

The International Banana Club Museum is located in Hesperia, California, and is the home of the world's largest collection of items related to the banana. The museum began in 1976 by banana man, Ken Bannister, and visitors of all ages are welcome to view the collection of banana related items.

There are over 17,000 items on display, most of which have been donated by members of the club. It is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Worlds Largest Collection devoted to one fruit.

In the Hard section of the museum there are bananas made from glass, wood, lead, ceramic, soap and even gold plated bananas. There are banana clocks, belts, charms, cups, banana slicers, musical bananas and even a Banana Club golf putter with yellow banana balls. There is even the infamous Petrified Banana.

In the Food, Drink and Notions section there are different kinds of banana candy, baby food, cereals, banana soda, tobacco and even popcorn. There are also cosmetic items made from banana such as lip gloss, suntan lotion and soaps. The Clothing Section features many items of clothing such as slippers, hats and t-shirts along with suits, ties and towels.

The yellow walls and ceilings of the museum feature banana art work, photos, cards, news clippings and clocks. The Soft section features the eight-foot yellow banana couch and many soft banana toys.

Ken Bannister has dubbed himself as T.B. Top Banana, of the International Banana Club. He started handing out stickers at photo conventions which started people send him banana related items. Ken is a fun person who knows the power of a smile and feels that people are not fully dressed unless they have a smile on. People from all over the world are welcome to become a member of the banana club, all members are known for the good attitude and sense of humor.
