Description: California Western School of Law, located in downtown San Diego, is one of just a few independent, nonprofit law schools in the country. Founded in 1924, it was admitted to the Association of American Law Schools in 1967. Dedicated to producing problem-solvers who will enhance the quality of justice in our society, Cal Western heads the California Innocence Project. In this unique program, students work with practicing criminal defense attorneys to seek the release of inmates in the state of California who maintain their factual innocence. The school runs on a trimester academic schedule, with options for full- or part-time study. The student population totals more than 900.

Description: Occupying 4 square blocks on the outskirts of downtown San Diego and next door to its namesake, San Diego High School, City College is the oldest community college in the San Diego District. Serving some 12,600 students, the urban campus offers an array of two-year associate’s degrees and a large number of certificate programs. Associated with the college, continuing-education centers throughout the area offer both college and adult education courses. It’s perhaps the most ethnically diverse center of higher learning in the county.The City Knights compete in intercollegiate baseball, basketball, cross-country, soccer, volleyball, tennis, and track for men and/or women. City College is distinguished by its on-campus radio station, KSDS-FM, San Diego’s only 24-hour jazz station.
