Zantman Galleries

The Zantman Galleries in Palm Desert is the area's oldest commercial galleries. It was originally owned by Gertrude and Johan Zantman, a Dutch couple who were born in Holland, married in Indonesia and immigrated to the East Coast in 1958. Soon after they moved to California, purchased the Hidden Village Coffee House and Gallery and had moved their growing gallery to Carmel by 1962. Years later, William and Kimberly Yant purchased the gallery and today, it is still one of the success stories of the area. The gallery prides itself on its customer service and is even willing to ship paintings to clients who are unable to travel to the gallery to choose a piece to purchase. Once the client is happy with the piece in person, the sale is finalized. Clients can also do Home Shows, where the paintings from the gallery are brought to a private home and the client is able to choose their painting based on how it actually looks in their home. Zantmans has an extensive collection of art that includes painting and sculpture. Artists include Duane Alt, Roger Bolzonello, B.Y. An, Gilles Archambault, Nancy Bowman, Giner Bueno, Rosa Canto, Michael Coleman, Victor Fisher, Esther Engelman and many more.
