Santa Barbara Sailing Center


Santa Barbara, California's location on the Pacific Ocean makes it ideal for a variety of water sports including sailing. The Santa Barbara Sailing Center is one of the premier venues for learning how to sail. It is also possible to charter a sailboat from the company for those who want to have fun but not do any of the sailing work. Their instructional sailing vacations take visitors to the Channel Islands National Park. It is possible to see a plethora of undersea creatures. They also have whale watching tours, sunset cruises, and kayak excursions. Sailing on the Double Dolphin is $25 per person or $10 for college students with IDs.

The Double Dolphin is a catamaran of 50 feet. They offer whale watching tours only during certain times of the year. For example, in February, the California coast will see plenty of humpback whales and orcas heading up the coast to Alaska. In September to October the whales come back along the coast for warmer waters.

Santa Barbara Sailing Center is a certified school and has won the ASA award for two years running. They offer programs for all levels and ages of sailors.
