Sacramento RiverTrain

The Sacramento RiverTrain boarding area is located at Industrial Way in Woodland, California and is approximately 15 miles from Sacramento. The train provides scenic trips with food and entertainment all year round. Launched in 2005 the train operates on the 16 mile Woodland Branch, which takes passengers from Woodland to West Sacramento.

Customers can purchase tickets for journeys that include brunch, lunch or dinner from the ticket office, which opens Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm. In addition to this there are special events held on the train including murder mystery dinner trips on selected Saturday nights. This three hour trip offers a three course meal with passengers helping to solve the mystery, whilst performers pass through the train.

Passengers are also entertained during the Great Train Robbery trip, which has western characters aboard and includes an old fashioned gun fight. Meals are served in the well furnished dining cars, while beer and wine is available in the dining cars, the Club Car or the open-air cars during the trips. The train itself is painted with a gold exterior reflecting the Gold Rush era and 1,000 feet of blue waves to represent the Sacramento River.
