Paddlewheel Showroom

The Paddlewheel Showroom is located on Front Street in the northern California city of Sacramento aboard the Delta King River Boat. The Paddlewheel showcases a variety of theatrical shows ranging from Broadway, comedy, improve and mystery theater. The theater is unique in that it is one of the few floating theaters in the state.

The Delta King, which houses the Paddlewheel Showroom, was built in the 1920's and commuted between Sacramento and San Francisco from 1927-1940. The Delta King has an identical sister ship; the Delta Queen.

The Paddlewheel is located on the riverfront with several restaurants and shops nearby. Tourists who visit the Paddlewheel can walk the riverfront area before or after a show. The Paddlewheel is a popular destination for locals and tourists due to the prime location in Downtown Old Sacramento.

In addition to the two dinner theaters on board, there are two restaurants, 44 hotel rooms, a wine school and wedding facilities. The theater, known as Capitol Stage, is the first professional theater to form in Sacramento in over a decade.

The Delta King was purchased by its current owners in 1984 after being partially submerged in the San Francisco Bay for 15 months.
